TYFO Areometer for antifreeze measurement of various TYFO products

Aräometer
Hydrometers are instruments for the precise determination of the density of liquids or the concentration of dissolved substances. They function according to Archimedes' principle. The instrument consists of an areometer and a measuring cylinder.

Application:

Fill approximately 250 ml of the fluid into the measuring cylinder and adjust the fluid temperature to +20 °C. Remove the areometer from the protective container and immerse it into the fluid. The hydrometer must float freely in the medium. Make sure that the areometer neither touches the walls nor the bottom of the measuring cylinder. Add some liquid if necessary. Read off the density value (g/cm³) from the aerometer scale at the liquid surface. The freezing point of the fluid can be determined by using a table which is provided together with the measuring device.

Suitable for:

  • Propylene glycol
  • Ethylene glycol
